Balun HF 4:1

Toroid & balun Links

4 to 1 balun
This balun was made with two ferrite cores, Jaycar LF1258)wired using Cat 5 UTP wire. The winding ratio is 6 turns to 12 turns. 50 ohm primary is 6 turns. The 200 ohm secondary is formed by adding 3 turns to either end, giving 12 turns overal

6:1 Voltage Balun
Requiring a balun to feed a balanced antenna from an un-balanced load with a impedance step up from 50ohms to 300ohms, a 1:6

9:1 transformer
A balanced antenna from an un-balanced load with a impedance step up from 50ohms to 300ohms, a 1:6 Voltage balun design using two L15 ferrite toroid cores was selected

9 to 1 balun
This balun was made with single ferrite core, Jaycar L01234) wired using single strand Cat 5 UTP wire. The winding ratio is 6 turns to 18 turns. 50 ohm primary is 3 x 6 turns, wired in parallel. The 450 ohm secondary is formed by winding 2 x 9 turns in series

Take off angle of horizontal antenna

Take off angle of horizontal antenna For horizontal polarization, the electric field will move sideways on a horizontal plane, while for vertical polarization it will oscillate up and down on a vertical plane

A remote antenna switch

A remote antenna switch An abiding dislike for bundles of cables running on the exterior of my house, so a remote antenna switch seemed like a good idea

5 element yagi antenna for 28.5 Mhz

5 element yagi antenna for 28.5 Mhz Gamma match will be made with a 1/2 "aluminum tube and a 75 cm coaxial piece of RG8 without sock and sheath inside the tube
