BPSK63, QPSK63 and PSK63F

Traduction anglaise

The new BPSK63 and QPSK63 modes derive from  BPSK31/QPSK31 but they are twice faster. The minimum ratio Signal-to-Noise ratio is about - 7 / -8 dB. The PSK63F is similar to PSK63 but with a convolutional encoding.

This mode is included into the software MULTIPSK by Patrick F6CTE, there is the description of this mode and its variants as well as the specifications coming from his software :

Created by: Moe Wheatley (AE4JY) and Howard Teller (KH6TY) in 2003
Description :
Baud rate :
62.5
Speed :
74 wpm in capital letters and 102 wpm in small letters (average)
Bandwidth :
about 160 Hz,
Drift tolerance :
120 Hz/min in BPSK63 and 40 Hz/min in QPSK63 (depending on level)

Note:
for the remainder, the characteristics are identical to the ones of BPSK31/QPSK31 modes.

Recommanded frequencies for BPSK63 and QPSK63 (USB)
14072,5 - 14080 Khz. It is recommended to use fixed frequencies multiple of 100 Hz: 14072,5, 14072,6, 14072,7... For that, the user sets his transceiver on 14072 Khz en USB and operates on 500, 600, 700,..., 2400 or 2500 Hz... on the spectrum indicator.

PSK63F

The PSK63F mode has a same speed (62.5 bauds) as PSK63 but with a convolutional encoding. It is a powerful mode with the presence of noise. The minimum ratio Signal-to-Noise ratio is about - 12 dB.

Recommanded frequencies for PSK63F +DIGISSTV "Run" (USB)

The modes (except PSK220F) like the PSK63F as well as PSK10, PSKFEC31, PSK63F +DIGISSTV "Run", PSKAM10/31/50 are QRP transmissions and they are used very little, Patrick F6CTE proposes to focus calls at the following frequencies and times:

        * 14075 Khz USB (AF around 1000 Hz) at 17h00 UTC,
        * 10148 kHz. USB (AF around 1000 Hz) at 22h00 UTC.
        * 144620 kHz. USB (AF around 1000 Hz) at 20h00 UTC.

A CW prefix, at 12 or 20 wpm,  indicating mode, software and power used, for example: "VVV DE F6CTE / MODE PSK63F / SOFT MULTIPSK / PWR: 5 WATTS" could be transmitted before the CQ call itself. The  option of the video identifier of mode,  now included in MULTIPSK,  permits to specify visually in CMT Hell  the mode label (and/or other information) before the main transmission. This identifier will be visible in the "waterfall" of the other Ham. For example, just before the general call ("CQ") in PSK63F, it will be sent automatically  "PSK63F" in CMT Hell. The other Ham will see "PSK63F" displaying on his "waterfall" and will switch immediately to PSK63F.
