End-Fed Half-Wave Antenna & Tuner
I would like to have the option of using the antenna portable, where a transmission line is just something else to carry and end-feeding is probably the easiest to set-up.The final device tunes a resistive load of 3-7 kilo-Ohms from 3.2 MHz to 12.6 MHz. 40 metres is covered (and 30 metres too, but I lack a transceiver for it currently), it is unfortunate that 20 metres could not be covered

The setup for 160m and 40m using an end fed half wave tuner and a kite is simple and easy to setup

With this length of wire a coil of 11 turns is required, resonating the antenna on 1.950MHz with an SWR of 1.5:1

The feed point of the EFHW is in the order of 3000 to 5000 ohms while the 1/2 wave dipole will be closer to 50 ohms in the inverted V configuration
