As an amplifier I used the famous 2N5109 for its excellent features of high OIP3, low noise figure in push -pull configuration.in input to the preamp I put a bandpass filter that passes the signals of the two low bands 160 meters and 80 meters , but which cuts the AM broadcast frequencies to about 600KHz, the frequencies of 40 meters and above. Possibly the filter can be removed and the preamplifier can make the whole band from 200 KHz to 30MHz

The first thing to do is to determine the frequency at which the antenna is to be operated. In my case it is 7.171 MHz. 1/4 of a wavelength is the equivalent of 90 degrees of the full 360 degree - single cycle waveform
